She’s come a long way in the ten years since she topped the charts with her world-wide smash single, went multi-platinum with her record “Blurring the Edges,” and toured the world with Lilith Fair.
In 2004, the twice Grammy-nominated rocker found a new muse—Troy, her brand new baby boy—and turned her passion toward creating a children’s record. “If I Could Be…” explores the everyday electricity and magic of childhood, with the song-writing proficiently Brooks is famous for. “Making this record has been so effortless and enjoyable…the best writing and recording experience of my entire life. It’s funny how trying to be the best mom I can be and feeling so happy about it has produced the most inspired music of my whole career,” she says.
Additionally, Brooks produces and co-writes for top artists such as Hillary Duff, and is the founder of Anybody's Mentoring Program (AMP), a non-profit devoted to nurturing career success among teens.
